Hi I'm back! I am going to conclude all the research and info that I have been talking to you about over the past few blog posts. My first post was about why and how the greeks worshiped Hera, and we found out that they worshiped her because they wanted to have a good marriage and they wanted their children to be safe. In my second post I talked about a myth about how Hera got two of her famous symbols, the cow and the peacock. This shows what happens when you mess with Hera's Husband. In my third and final post was about which city Hera was the Parton goddess of. That city was called Argos and Io was a princess in that city. Poseidon and Hera fought over Argos. I find it important to know about Ancient Greece to understand what impacts they left on our world today. I learned that Greeks were very creative and that they made up these myths and gods to understand the world around them.
Another topic I want to discuss is The city of Argos. Which is located in eastern Peloponnese in Greece. This is the city where Hera is the Parton goddess. A Parton god or goddess is when the people in the city respect that god more than anyone else. In greek mythology Hera and Poseidon both wanted to be Argos's Parton god or goddess. But when Hera was chosen Poseidon was mad so he flooded Argos, and Hera didn't like that so she told Poseidon to take away the water and he did but he took away all the water so Argos was very dry. Hera was mad once again, so she told him to put the water back. And he did but Argos is still a pretty dry place. The reason Hera is the Parton goddess is because people want their children to be safe and they want to have a good marriage, but also i feel they were afraid of her wrath. Also as we talked I the last blog post about Io, she was a princess in Argos. Check in later for my last and final post. :(
